We all know fast food is neither healthy for us nor for the planet. Just think about how much perfectly edible food is thrown away at Burger King after a couple of minutes due to health regulations.
Also, none of this food is produced ethically, no matter what those huge corporations are trying to tell us with their CSR and marketing strategy. Simply google ‘Kentucky Fried Chicken meat production’, or ask a local teenager what happens behind the scenes at McDonald’s. There is a fair chance you will want to throw up. It’s scary.
That’s why this Jallenge is called: ‘Fear Fast Food’. Or what did you think?
How To Avoid Fast Food
Avoiding fast food is not difficult at all. There are loads of delicious food options out there. Take some time, sit down with an interesting colleague or buddy and talk. Savor the moment, and savor the fact that you have food. Not everybody on this planet is that blessed.
In case you already know you’ll be short on time between meetings tomorrow: Prepare yourself a lunch box. It takes a lot less time than walking to the next Burger King. And in case you buy all your stuff locally, it is also a hell of a lot healthier!
Even better, lunch boxes do save you money compared to eating at fast food restaurants.
As with all the Jallenges: Give it a go. You never know until you try. And, again as with all Jallenges, motivate someone else to try it with you. Wear your wristbands with pride, and update yourselves daily with new restaurant insights and delicious recipes. It is the social accountability that will make you succeed!
