In short:
Say Yes More for one week. Primarily to things you are not sure about. #YesMore
What’s In It For You:
Hilarious moments, lots of action and memories that will last you a lifetime.
Now Challenge Yourself:
Did you ever think about what a positive word “Yes” is? Everyone brightens up when you answer “Yes” to their questions – as that is usually what they asked the question for. Most delightful are of course the rather unexpected “Yes”: A commitment that requires a little more effort. An experience that will push you out of your comfort zone. A Yes to a person that has heard too many No’s before.
Don’t worry. We won’t ask you to say Yes to every single question you are asked. But we would like to encourage you to say Yes in all those everyday situations in which you are not sure whether to say Yes or No, and usually the only thing holding you back from agreeing is laziness or the fear of the unknown.
We want you to Say Yes More to all those invitations to dinner or “Just one Drink”‘s that turn into long nights out. To helping a colleague or your neighbor just by stepping a tiny little bit out of your routine. To spontaneous travel (send us pictures!). And to going at least the first few yards of that extra mile for someone who deserves it.
If in doubt:
In case you are not convinced: Please at least say “Yes” to reading “Yes Man” by Danny Wallace. It is not just absolutely hilarious, but it will also get you thinking how indeed saying “Yes” will change your life for the better! (For all those non-book-readers out there: We’re glad you read at least our Jallenges. 😉 And: “Yes Man” was turned into a movie with Jim Carrey. As with most film adaptions, it doesn’t quite reach the hilariousness of the book, but it certainly entertains for close to two hours.)
Definitions & Exceptions:
Success: Of course at the end of the week only you can judge whether you succeeded with this Jallenge or not. But to be honest, this is not about completing a Jallenge or not. This is about making a change, being positive and embracing life! After all, we all only have one, right?
Exceptions: As stated above, please do not say to everyone and everything. In case the answer in your head is a clear “No”, feel free to say so. But as soon as you start considering both options, opt for the “Yes”.
Transparency Is Key:
Please note the book link is an affiliate links. Funny enough I chose Danny Wallace’s affiliate link, so he earns even more than just the normal book revenue. But hey – he deserves it!
